Rick Ross’ Teflon Don Review

Above, one of the best songs on the album, Maybach Music III

Tomorrow, one of the summer’s most anticipated albums will come out. This album is none other than Rick Ross’ 4th studio album, Teflon Don. With an album name based on the nickname of gangster John Gotti, Teflon Don features some of the current hip hop heroes such as KanYe West, Drake, Jay-Z and a couple of more surprises.

To be honest, I was expecting a bit more from Rick Ross after his previous album, Deeper Than Rap. I was expecting this to be more of a part 2 to the album, but Teflon Don doesn’t fulfill my standards. But that’s comprehensible seeing that Ross isn’t trying to do the same sounding songs over again.

I found Ross’ raps in specific to have not matched my standards. He yells alot on these records. But he provides decent verses.

I LUVED ❤ the beats on this album. They’re all so beautiful. But the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League beats are the ones that stand out the most. I don’t even think they should be on a hip hop album.

And the guests were groundbreaking. The best vocals come from Ne-Yo on Super High and Drake on Aston Martin Music. I’d have to say the best verses (guests and Ross) were in Maybach Music III(Ross, T.I. & Jadakiss), Super High (Ross) and the ever controversial Free Mason in which Rick Ross, Jay-Z and even R&B singer John Legend has great lines.

Overall, It’s decent. Maybe it’s not Trilla or Deeper Than Rap, but it will go down as one of the stronger albums of this summer.

Verdict: 8

In depth:

Rick Ross:7

Beats: 10

Guests: 8

(so if u do the math, it’s actually an 8.33333333, but 8 sounds better)
