30 for 30 – Straight Outta L.A. (Review)

Above, the 1st part of Straight Out L.A.

The other week, I was channel surfing and this ESPN documentary, Straight Outta L.A. came up. The Ice Cube directed film focuses on the impact that Gangsta Rap made on the L.A. Raiders.

I think that the main purpose of a documentary is to tell a certain important timeline, and this doc’ did this, and pretty well.

The story was the most interesting part. I think it’s interesting on how when hip hop had to step out off the Raiders movement, so did the fans. That’s huge! The interviews were neat too. And Ice Cube’s narration and directing skills truly stood out.

Verdict: 7
